(AP) A software engineer at the Culvers college of engineering is applying to the prestigious engineering school to join a team developing a new way to analyze and control the world’s carbon emissions.
David Ruedy’s application is part of a national effort to build the global smart city, which involves the use of sensors and artificial intelligence.
Ruedy is the co-founder of Smart City Solutions, which is a software company that specializes in the use and analysis of large data sets.
Ruedi is also the cofounder of the startup, Ruedo, which develops software to analyze data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other sources.
The company developed a tool called Ruedio, which analyzes and controls emissions from power plants, cars, factories and other facilities.
Ruey is a graduate of Culver, and a senior majoring in engineering.
He said he’s looking forward to working on the project and helping to solve some of the world´s biggest environmental problems.
“We´re hoping that we can be a catalyst for something that will save the world,” Ruede said.
He is working on his final application, which will be submitted in June, and hopes to receive a call from Culver soon.
The technology Ruedaio developed is called CELTA, for carbon emission tracking and control.
It analyzes emissions data from sensors like thermometers and air-conditioning systems, and uses algorithms to help drivers and cities manage emissions and monitor and control them.
Rueso and his colleagues are currently working on software that can use CO2 data to monitor and regulate emissions at power plants and other industrial facilities, like factories, Ruey said.RUEY said the technology is not just for monitoring emissions from coal-fired power plants or factories, but also from other sources like power stations and natural gas power plants.
He wants to use it to monitor emissions from other natural resources, like rivers, lakes and streams.
Ruledo has a strong foundation of technology, Rueso said.
It has a solid research and development team, and it has strong partnerships with large universities and corporations.RUEDY, who has been working in the computer science and data science areas for about four years, is looking for a team to develop the software.
The application will include an online application, and he is looking to have it completed by late June or early July.
He said the work could be done in a few months, and then Rueded will need to submit his application to the college of engineers.
He added that he expects to be able to work at the college within three years.RUESEDY said he has been approached by several companies interested in working with him on the CELSA project, including Google and Facebook.
He declined to say what the companies are asking for.
He and Rueday plan to have a public forum on the smart city initiative in March, and will then present their findings at the International Conference on Smart Cities in Las Vegas.
They will be discussing the technology with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers and other industry leaders.
